Dear Council,

For 8 months now, the [council alert bounty](https://kusama.polkassembly.io/bounty/4) has seen the curator asking for more time on each update (without sharing any information on the progress). Perhaps you as councillors know more here…

I got inspired to do something about this idle bounty and provide the council with a viable option when I noticed the following comment on [the bounty proposal](https://kusama.polkassembly.io/bounty/4) from Jack :

“I would prefer if I could get pinged in Telegram (currently Raul does this) each time a new bounty, tabled motion, or treasury proposal is up for vote.”

I built a bot that does exactly what Jack asked and MORE! The days of Raul having to manually send out reminders are over!

Introducing the [Council Alert Bot](https://t.me/councilAlertKusamaBot)!

The bot has 2 main features:

1. Broadcast new council relevant events:
- Any user is alerted about new motions and new tips in real time
    - This feature can easily be turned on/off with the press of a button

2. Send reminders to council members:
- Any user can add alerts for an address
    - Should this address be a council member at the current block and have tips or motions that are not yet tipped/voted on by them, then the user will be reminded.
    - When setting up alerts, the user has the option between daily or hourly reminders (we can easily add more options here).

The bounty proposal saw the following requirements:
* would connect to rpc node; ✅
* would connect with different networks; ✅
* would notify about events; ✅
* would watch wallet accounts and tell the user when pending; ✅
* would have different alert levels; ✅
* would recognise a "batcall" remark from council or TC members, with a system.remark "alertCouncil" that would trigger an alarm. ❌ (was not sure how relevant this is still today. If it is still required, we can easily add it)

I hope that this proposal does not devalue the bounty itself! In a decentralised system it definitely makes sense to have multiple different solutions for the same problem. Once the bounty app is also completed we will have 2 great independent solutions to increase council involvement and aid in speeding up our governance processes!

P.S. Before tipping this, why don’t you try it out!  

1. Create an alert with your council address in the bot. (Activate HOURLY reminders for tips)
2. Wait for maximum one hour to get a reminder on all tip requests/motions still waiting for your tip/vote
3. After you tip this tip request you will no longer get a reminder for it.

- **Problem Statement:** Lack of timely updates and progress information on the council alert bounty, leading to inefficiencies in the governance process.
- **Significance:** Enhancing council involvement and speeding up governance processes by providing real-time alerts for new motions and tips, as well as reminders for council members to vote on pending proposals.
- **Proposed Solution:** Introducing the Council Alert Bot that broadcasts new council events and sends reminders to council members based on their preferences.
- **Expected Outcomes:** Increased efficiency in governance processes, improved council engagement, and multiple solutions available to address the same issue in a decentralized system.
