POLKADOT SAFARI '23 (Request for second allocation of funds)
Hello community,
This is a follow up request for the second allocation of funds from Polkadot Safari 2023 which took place in March and April.
Excuse the delay for updating this description, I was waiting for my signatories to approve my request for KSM for the decision deposit.
Our previous request was erroneous (my mistake and I take full accountability).
TL DR
When we converted the Kusama received, it was worth $234.127.97, at the time of receipt of the funds, KSM had dropped. Our original total ask between the first and second allocation was $289,313. Due to the depreciation of the Kenya Shilling to the dollar in February, March and April, the funds went a much longer way in covering the costs for the conference. Additionally, a few contributors worked a few hours and we substituted them with new contributors from February. Both of these factors rendered our new difference to decrease from $55,186 to $24,400.
I did not factor that in when I was submitting the referenda two weeks ago.
Please find our report and request for funds here. The $24,400 is what's left to pay off the organizer's. We had specifically ensured that we paid off all of the conference expenses before fully paying off ourselves.
Thank you for understanding, and may the sky be your basement.
Sianoi

Price dips are devastating to projects that rely on grant funds in the form of tokens — I certainly understand how frustrating it is to work with the delay of getting a referendum passed with such volitile prices.
Now, if the descrepancy was only a couple thousand dollars then I might say to try to work with your contractors/ budget to see if you can cut costs to make up the difference. However, this is quite a large pull down and I really don't think you should have to front such a large bill.
Anyone who is against this is in favor of a slave class of workers under the Treasury. Sianoi and company should be compensated fairly for what they did with DOT Safari. This referendum get a hearty AYE from me. Thanks for all the work you guys put in!
