4-Month funding for Cryptozilla YouTube channel
Update May 4:
As my treasury proposal is going to be rejected by the majority of Kusama community, I would kindly ask those who voted Nay to provide me with at least a brief feedback. Your valuable feedback will allow me to improve my future proposals and avoid making the same mistakes. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Hello Kusama community,
this is Max, and this is the referendum on my treasury proposal for 4-month funding of my Cryptozilla Youtube channel.
Please find the full treasury proposal here.
I am a long-term video content creator about Polkadot & Kusama networks and ecosystem projects. Over the last 1 year 8 months, I have released 195 Polkadot/Kusama-related videos, in the last ∼7 months I have created 21 detailed dapp/UI tutorials.
I am asking for funding to produce 40 English educational videos, that will be delivered in the next 4 months (10 videos/month).
I am asking for the total amount of $12,800 currently worth of 400 KSM in accordance with the 7-day EMA.
I set the cost of one video for the Kusama treasury at $320.
I create:
- dApp tutorials
- Project reviews
- “A bigger picture”-focused videos about the vision and role of the Polkadot in Web3
A big part of my video creation are detailed ecosystem dapp/UI tutorials. Within the last ∼7 months, I have released 21 tutorials.
In the next 4 months, I am going to continue focusing on dapp tutorials and will create a detailed “hands-on” tutorial on each new dapp/UI launched.
My channel is the third biggest ecosystem-focused channel by the average number of views/video - 394 views in the last 6 months.
In my proposal, I put a strong focus on providing KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) of my channel over the last 6 months as well as the minimum, expected KPIs for the following 4 months. Based on the past and projected KPIs, the CPV (Cost Per View) of my videos for the Kusama treasury will be between $0,92 - $1,28.
In the section 5 - ROI (Return on Investment), I aimed to provide my view at how the ROI of my video content can be measured and calculated, at least to some degree.
If this proposal is approved by the Kusama community, I will keep this spreadsheet updated after each new video is released, providing the community with all the KPIs, including the current CPV. The spreadsheet will be available for the community to review and comment on anytime.
Once all 40 videos are delivered, I will provide the community with a detailed performance report of all videos, as well as with the evaluation of how my set goals and projected ROI have been achieved.
I believe I have submitted a reasonable proposal to the Kusama community to vote on, bringing good value to the ecosystem, with reasonable pricing and mechanisms ensuring the treasury funds will be put to good use.
Thank you everyone for taking the time to review and consider my proposal and for voting.
I will be happy to answer all your questions.
Max

Hello Max!
First of all, I have to say, congrats! You have put in a lot of work in your channel. I remember seeing your videos around on WagMedia but I haven't looked through your channel in depth till now and I have to say I'm really impressed so congratulations!
I also like your average view count per video which is representative of the current Polkadot & Kusama communities (it's very hard to break 1,000 views per video on ecosystem only videos right now) and your growth report clearly shows that!
I'm really curious about one thing you mentioned which caught my attention. You claimed in the description, the following: "My channel is the third biggest ecosystem-focused channel"
I'm curious, who are numbers 1 and 2 in your opinion? If anything, based on your average stats + subscribers, I would say you're number 2 in my opinion.
You're also asking for what I believe to be a fair amount of cost per video but I would like to see more editing to attract the audience with b-rolls playing at certain moments or some images which are not linked to the news you speak of but can be related at that time, basically invest some of the funding in an editing software and invest your time to put out some edited videos as they tend to perform better and you will see this in the bull market.
I also started doing videos like yourself initially by recording my screen and then stepped up the game by showing my face on webcam and editing them. Do you plan to also show your face in videos or will you always show the screen?
Also, assuming HACNA votes Nay for this referendum and it gets rejected, what is your plan of continuation going forward? Will you continue to get tipped by WagMedia or will you consider sponsors to self sustain?
Some people in the ecosystem push for content creators to find ways to fund themselves so sponsors is the best way or Ambassadorship programmes (which are hard to obtain in these market conditions).
Anyway, given your stats and your time in the eco, I vote Aye for this referendum, good luck!

I am not going to go too deep into the details of the proposal or if the author should charge more or less for each piece of content offered, surely I will differ in several aspects as in many other cases, but regardless of any of those things, Cryptozilla seems to me a creator who has been doing a remarkable job and consistently. We must support the creators of the ecosystem who work selflessly and Cryptozilla seems to me one of them and a proposal with a budget of $12,800 seems more than fair for the work he does and with the background he has up to now. Several aspects can be improved perhaps, but that can be said to all the creators and projects in the ecosystem without any distinction. All my support for this proposal, great job Cryptozilla and I sincerely hope you continue to progress with your work and your channel, happy to help you with any questions or if you need any advice to continue increasing the results. All the best! ♥️
