Slashed For Significant Amount Yesterday
Hi. A couple of days ago one of my validators, which i believe was a Zug Capital one, and my account were slashed. My balance did not change, so i thought it was a slash that was not applied as i have experienced this before. I, of course, unnominated all Zug Capital validators i had nominated before. However, yesterday 04.11. my balance got reduced by 15+ KSM. Upon further investigation I learned that I missed the grace period, which I did not know about then, in which my funds could have been reovered. I come here due to some kind help from the Kusama Riot chat. I am asking if it were possible to refund me some of my 15,4 KSM which was slashed in Block 4770413. Surely this is a learning experience for me, though I hope not that expensive. Regards

I'm honestly very sorry for the nominators that have been caught in this slash affecting 40 validator nodes. (Over 1K KSM affected as a result) Having said that, in this case the network behaved exactly as expected in this scenario.It seems the operator changed the session keys across a number of nodes, made an error, produced both invalid grandpa and babe results due to sharing of keys and this issue occurred. The reason this did not go to council (and nobody asked) - unlike some slashes that have been caused by software issues and have been subsequently cancelled, this was 100% operator error and should be viewed in that light as a fully valid applied slash.
