Overall 50 % of users are feeling optimistic. The Cyber future on Parachains online series, hosted by Daniel and his team, successfully engaged about 50 attendees including builders, investors, and creators from the Kusama ecosystem. The event featured great speakers like Joe Petrowski of Web3 Foundation and Ruitao Su of Acala, with discussions leading to promising signs of collaborations in DeFi, infrastructure tools, NFTs, metadata development, and AR & VR Art installations. Event videos were uploaded on YouTube for wider accessibility....

Overall 50 % of users are feeling neutral. This text seeks clarification about success metrics, cost allocation, and fund usage for an upcoming event. The person inquiring wants to know if joining the event is free of charge, where recordings will be stored afterward, how funds will be used for content creation and promotion in communities, and what expenses are included under "event promotion." They also seek more details about the metrics that will be used to judge the success of the event....

Hi, thank you for the post - Id like to know what are the success metrics you will take into account to judge this event after completion and if joining the event is free of charge? can we also find the recordings in a specific site after the event ends?

Additionally, you re requesting the allocation for event planning, content creation before and after the event (video, blogs, visual banners) and promotion in communities: could you give us a bit more granularity to understand how you intend to use the funds?

Hey Raul, thanks for taking the time to read through the proposal.

  • Joining the event is free of charge. Registration link is found here:
  1. https://www.airmeet.com/e/6c7c50d0-8af1-11eb-b0ad-e19826cea63b
  2. https://www.airmeet.com/e/f8316ab0-8be2-11eb-95a1-2f5dd866dcfd

With regard to what success metrics are we targeting:

  • Onboarding developers: Since 2016 we've onboarded hundreds of developers to crypto. one developer at a time, if this events results in 2-3 developers joining the space we'd consider it a success already.
  • Creating content that supports emerging founders with their objectives of partnerships, hiring etc (e.g. Bitfwd has been supporting SubQuery and KodaDot founders through project formation since early 2020)

Recording: We will be uploading the talks videos to Bitfwd's YouTube.

Budget allocation: I was in fact late to submit the proposal to treasury as we were busy on the event planning and Kusama Governance process are still new to me, However, the budget goes to cover for team member's support and promotion of the event. Team: 8k for the content and operation.

  • Blog posts: Promo blog, talks summary blogs, case study on Polkadot open source ecosystem building post, keynote, and video will be produced.

Promotion: 2k will go to spend on event promotion in quality developer channels once budget it approved.

Happy to answer any additional questions.

Thanks @exponent for the info on metrics.

"8k for the content and operation." - what does content and operations include exactly?

When you say: "2k will go to spend on event promotion in quality developer channels " - does this mean you pay for this channels? or what exactly is the expense?

Hey @rrtti-5220, let me elaborate:

Regarding content: it includes producing written content in the form of promotional blog, open source Polkadot ecosystem building case study, written summary of event talks, graphic artwork for the event (banners, social media copies etc).

Regarding operation: it includes coordinating and chasing up speakers, preparing the event runsheet and online platform + registration (Airmeet) logistics for each of the speakers, and the audience, editing the recording, uploading to YouTube. Posting the content after the event in relevant channels.

Reporting on the funding of Cyber future on Parachains: Opensource ecosystem, DeFi, inftracture tools, meta data, NFTs and Art

Hey netizens of the Kusama ecosystem, thanks to your support we ran a fantastic online 2 event series hosting great speakers. It was great to be able to grow the Polkadot ecosystem through community outreach, several of the people got little exposure to the Substrate ecosystem before hence it was even more enjoyable to be able to expose some new comers too.

Event info: Speakers: Joe Petrowski Technical Integrations Lead of Web3 Foundation, Ruitao Su Co Founder of Acala, Sam Zou Founder of On Finality & SubQuery, Sang Tran Hong Founder of PolkaWarriors & Investor Partner at Illusionist Group, Daniel Bar Founder of Bitfwd, Bruno Skvorc Technical Educator at Web3 Foundation Creator of Kanaria and RMRK.app, JAM Freelancer of DatDot, Viki Valastin Co Founder of KodaDot, Yangwao Founder of KodaDot,

Attendees: about 50 people including builders, investors and creators. The quality of the discussions was great, some of the questions from the audience were promising signs of collaborations and interest in the projects showcased.

We've recorded and uploaded the videos to YouTube:

Cyber future on Parachains: Open source ecosystem, DeFi, Infrastructure tools
