Between the initial polkassembly post and today, we made two changes in the detailed proposal:

While most of us are busy doing holiday shoppings these days, Paradox is spending time engaging with parachain democracy and making open-sourced tools. We all know who spends time better. 

It seems that Paradox was inspired by a [recent Karura democracy discussion](https://karura.subsquare.io/democracy/proposal/2) and ventured to make an open-sourced tool to help nominators select validators based on user-specified criteria. 

According to his description, "This repository is dedicated to the development of a tool to help nominate validators from the Thousand Validator Programme. The selection criteria and frequency can be specified via a settings file (Settings.ts). Should this tool be used by a Parachain, it is envisaged that the parameters can be integrated into its chainstate and loaded (into this application) upon start up."

gm. High/Stake created an open-source github repo of its Ansible deployment script of Polkadot/Kusama node. While we already have a few Ansible scripts from [w3f](https://github.com/w3f/polkadot-validator-setup) and from [polkachu](https://github.com/polkachu/polkadot-validator), this one is different in one major area. This deployment script is a Docker-based deployment. I, as a big fan of Ansible, applaud this new tool for the community.

I am a fan of Relay Chain podcast. While DotSama ecosystem is full of movers and shakers, I am often disappointed by the fact that it releases new episodes very infrequently. Sometimes I even forget that I subscribe to the Relay Chain podcast feed after a long hiatus. 

Space Monkeys comes to fill in the void. Since its inaugural episode in August, it has released 5 episodes in total, and it shows no signs of slowing down. The W3F registrar service was greatly improved with automation a few months ago. However, the new way of identity judgment lacks documentation (see the current [wiki page](https://wiki.polkadot.network/docs/learn-registrar) with only one sentence and a link). Since W3F registrar is widely used due to its low cost and fast turnaround, this good improvement also has caused some confusions and lead to repeated Q&As on the community channels. 

Paradox sees a need and has recorded this thorough 20-minute video on how to set identity and request judgment through W3F registrar. The video is also well timestamped so viewers can easily jump to the sections of their interest (e.g., email challenge, Twitter challenge, Element challenge, etc). I would even suggest to pin the video link on the validator discord channel for easy access.

Helikon Labs has made an automated staking payout tool for substrate-based chains. The script is a simplified and daemonized version of [canontech/staking-payouts](https://github.com/canontech/staking-payouts). It can either function in single-run mode (default), or in daemon mode, where it will run at defined periods. 

You may ask: We have many payout scripts out there. Do we really need another one?

Well, glad you have asked. Helikon has been using another script but has experienced hanging issues after the latest runtime update. Thus this new daemonized version!

If you hang out in the online communities enough (Reddit, Element, Discord, etc.), a recurring theme is "how do I do xxx with ledger". As far as I know, Ledger provides additional security, but also leads to many workarounds for people who are not crypto experts. 

This video tutorial is designed to aid Ledger users clear democracy votes once they've expired.  The video expands to discuss democracy voting in brief and to add context. Paradox also attaches a PDF version of the presentation as a companion material.

It has been a while since Paradox posted a video on YouTube. But when he does, it is always high-quality and educational. This one is no exception. 

There was an update to the Polkadot Network and Ledger Live isn't working.  There's no foreseeable remedy as Ledger would be required to update Node and they are hesitant. Ledger Live users are left stranded and frequently visit the support channels for assistance to regain access to their accounts. There is sometimes panic as users believe that funds are stored in their "ledger". This video lays out the scenarios and explains the reasons. 

This video covers:

1. Assures users that their funds are still available and are hosted on the relay chain.  Ledger Live is a gateway to the data on the relay chain as-is Polkadot.JS.  You can access your EXISTING account.
2. Describes the issue in brief.
3. Provides a short demo of viewing your reward history using a block explorer like subscan.io and retrieving your account in Polkadot.JS/apps
4. Mentions that there's a new minimum required for DOT staking i.e. 40 bonded DOT and that other reasons for not receiving rewards remain constant e.g. Payout not being issued, Being in the oversubscribed list and finally but not exhaustively if your validator is at 100% commission.

I am not sure if a tip is allowed without specific content links such as a youtube video or a blogpost. If you spent any amount of time in the Element chatrooms, you can feel the presence of Paradoxxx. He is active, patient and helpful in the chats, especially to many new members who find the wiki a bit too intimidating and would like to get a quick answer for a specific problem they are stuck with.

Council members, this tip is for Vegas_life_main, a fellow member of Thousand Validator Programme on Kusama. He has created a Medium blogpost compiling various resources for Kusama/Polkadot validators. When I started the 1K program, I scouted the web and put different pieces together. It is nice to have a community member who spent the time to put them together in one place.
