The goal of the proposal is to fund the Bright Treasury app maintenance costs. We have automated tests and deployment of infrastructure templates with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD). The infrastructure as code approach lets us have an easy run and update of the environment.

BrightTreasury is a standalone web application along with a PWA representation that allows performing basic actions on the Treasury module of Polkadot and Kusama Substrate networks (with a potential to support any Substrate-based network with Treasury module). It allows a more intuitive and lightweight flow of submitting proposals as well as an overview of the Treasury related actions.

Our focus is on the regular user’s actions rather than the council perspective for this first release. We want to attract more professionals who could contribute to the community with their ideas and skills but at the same time may not be as fluent in blockchain customs and terminology.

Bright Inventions is a team of 70 developers, project managers, UX/UI designers and operations specialists - experts in mobile and web applications, systems integration, IOT devices and Blockchain platforms.

The BrightTreasury team currently consists of:

Agnieszka Olszewska - Technical Lead, blockchain specialist. She is a senior backend developer with a main interest in data modeling. She started her software development career 10 years ago and from then she began discovering a lot of new technologies. Among them there are JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Postgres, Node.js, NestJS. Most recently she’s been engaged in developing blockchain based solutions with Substrate.

Alisa Kashytska - UI/UX design She is a UI/UX designer with a passion for digging deep into the product domain and understanding the user's perspective. She has worked on the design for multiple web/mobile solutions and lately has been responsible for UI redesign of Parity Building Blocks Android and web apps.

Łukasz Kuderewski - fullstack developer He is an optimist, always willing to learn new things. Mechatronics engineer who fell in love with programming. He has always been interested in a holistic approach to programming problems, which is why after working as a frontend, he is now fulfilled as a fullstack.

Robert Koprowski - fullstack developer, blockchain specialist He is an experienced and ambitious blockchain enthusiast. Graduated from the University of Edinburgh, he lived in various locations around the world to settle now in Gdańsk. Originally a Backend Developer who decided to extend his skills and become Fullstack Developer, always trying to learn something new.

Katarzyna Łukasiewicz - Project Manager She has been working with agile methods for over 10 years, both as a researcher and a practitioner. She believes in teamwork and a power of user centered mindset. With experience in leading international projects, she knows how to support and encourage timely and high quality deliveries.

Based on our 01-03.2022 Maintenance proposal (https://treasury.bright.dev/proposals/85/info?networkId=polkadot) we prepared a prediction of costs for the upcoming 3 months.

3 month Maintenance cost projection for April, May, June 2022:

- AWS app hosting prediction for 3 months	2300 $
- Self-hosted TeamCity CI server	                1000 $
- Infrastructure maintenance activities labour	5000 $
- Code maintenance activities labour	        7000 $
- Marketing & educational activities labour	1200 $

                                                     TOTAL	16,500 $

Infrastructure maintenance activities include:

- AWS logs checkup - scanning the logs and statistics checkup, performed every morning in the work days
- Incident and problem management - taking action whenever an unwanted event occurs in the infrastructure
- Infrastructure updates - checking and updating any infrastructure setup when a new version appears

Code maintenance activities include:

- Critical bug fixes (Github issue tracker) - analyzing and performing the required actions whenever a critical issue is raised in the BrightTreasury GitHub issue tracker. Action should be taken within 24hrs from raising the issue.
- PolkadotJS and stage/testing/production Substrate versions updates - updating the app to work with the newest PolkadotJS versions and automatic testing of the versions in CI
- Libraries and tools updates - performing any necessary updates of the libraries and tools used with the app

Marketing & educational activities include:

- Publishing 3 blog posts promoting Polkadot and Kusama Treasury mechanisms, BrightTreasury and Web 3.0. Articles are planned to be distributed through various platforms e.g. https://brightinventions.pl/blog https://hackernoon.com/ https://dev.to/ https://medium.com/
- YouTube tutorial presenting basic BrightTreasury features.
- Series of Twitter posts regarding BrightTreasury published via https://twitter.com/brightdevs

Payment Conditions:

Total allocation to be paid in advance for quarterly periods, based on estimations.
Any fluctuations of the period before will be added in the next one, along with proof of cost, in order to be covered.
The team will provide maintenance reports before on-chain submission of proposals to treasuries to cover the above mentioned costs.
Maintenance costs will be covered by both Kusama and Polkadot treasuries: we aim to submit quarterly proposals alternating between both treasuries, as both networks are integrated to the application.
Token rate to be calculated based on 30day average tool by Subcan on Polkadot and Kusama.
