#441 Retroactive tips for Rust content to onboard developers into PolkadotSDK
Hello, I'm Alina, a Rust/Substrate developer and alumni of the Polkadot Blockchain Academy (5th wave). Graduation certificate. I've created technical content on YouTube designed to provide a smooth onboarding experience for developers into the Substrate working environment. My goal is to attract more developers to the Kusama ecosystem in the long term, resulting in more projects and investments.
Currently, there's not a lot of content on how to work with Substrate. While Parity offers proficient-level videos, I noticed a gap in beginner-friendly content. That's why I decided to create videos that explain complicated terms and concepts in simple words.
Below are the titles and short descriptions of the three videos I've launched, along with links to each. Please check them out and let me know your thoughts:
Polkadot SDK, Substrate, FRAME, Pallets, and Their Structure - For Beginners. Watch here: In this video, I explain the Polkadot ecosystem's developer environment, including Polkadot SDK, Substrate, FRAME, and Pallets, to give you a basic understanding of these components.
Polkadot & Kusama Ecosystems Terminology for Beginners. Watch here: This video is a trivia session where I provide definitions of the core terms needed to start working in the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems.
Balances Pallet and Assets Pallet of Substrate - Explained for Beginners. Watch here: In this video, I discuss the Balances and Assets Pallets of the Substrate framework (Polkadot SDK), their similarities and differences, when to use each, and the basic concepts you need to understand when working with these Pallets.
I am requesting a tip of 110 KSM for the work already done.

Overall 50 % of users are feeling optimistic. The author expresses gratitude to all those who showed their support for his/her initiative. The overwhelming positive response, symbolized by a resounding "Aye," is highly appreciated. This collective backing has been instrumental in the success of the project.
Overall 50 % of users are feeling neutral. The text explores how an individual confirmed educational gaps with a community before assuming their existence. It discusses the strategy of proceeding without initial confirmation from OpenGov, seeking retroactive funding later. The text also examines updating the Polkadot Glossary and Wiki with new definitions and terminology provided in videos, as well as identifying existing content on working with Substrate that is believed to be insufficiently covered.

I vote Aye to support you and others who want to create tech content for Kusama / Polkadot ecosystems.
@FDL99LDYERjevxPnXBjNGHZv13FxCGHrqh2N5zWQXx1finf Thank you for support! It's amazing to see that you encourage people to make Kusama and Polkadot ecosystems a better place!
Your data is poor, you just did something but didn't see any results.
After discussing this proposal with friends from AIweb3, GiKi and xupan, we considered that this is a retroactive fund. According to industry standards, we suggest a price of 100 USDT per video. The proposed amount is too high, and each video’s viewership is not significant. Please adjust the amount and resubmit the proposal, then i will support.
Questions:
1— How did you confirm with the community that a gap in educational content existed, rather than just assuming that a gap existed?
2- Is there a reason why you took the strategy of proceeding with the work without first checking with OpenGov, and then asking for retroactive funding, rather than starting a discussion to confirm what educational gaps existed, then submitting a proposal with a high-level breakdown of each video that you were proposing to do to obtain feedback and funding approval before actually starting the work?
3— Did you update the Polkadot Glossary https://wiki.polkadot.network/docs/glossary with the definitions and terminology that you say you provided in one of your videos?
4- What did you cover in your videos that weren't already covered in previous Substrate Seminars https://substrate.io/ecosystem/resources/past-seminars? Is that what you are referring to when you say "Party offers proficient-level videos"?
5- How did you update the Polkadot Wiki to incorporate the content that you added to your videos?
6- Where have you listed the existing "content on how to work with Substrate" that you believe there isn't a lot of?
7- Is there a reason why you chose to do videos instead of just creating separate questions on https://substrate.stackexchange.com/ for each "complicated terms and concepts" where you asked for answers that would "explain" them in "simple words", and then ask for retroactive funding by providing all those questions and answers instead?
I consider this kind of content should be pay by bounties after review content and KPI. The proposal request 110 KSM per 3 videos, 36.6 KSM each. Because the high cost and the few visualizations I will vote nay.
Based on the feedback from AIWeb3 community, the requested amount is too high for three videos and the impact of those videos is not big enough, we would consider supporting if the cost is lower.
