#44 [Big Tipper] - Tip request for videos in Spanish
Hello, it's me Claudio again,
I'd like to please request a total of 24 KSM (approx $605.76 for the current KSM price of $25.24) in tips for the following 3 videos which I have produced and haven't been paid by WagMedia due to being out of funds after I already spent the research time and effort to create the videos.
One of the videos is dubbed by one of the ladies I work with for the Spanish material and 2 are original.
1. Polkadot vs Cosmos (comparison video)
3. Mangata X Tutorial (dubbed tutorial)
Also for transparency, feel free to check the description of each of these videos to find that this beneficiary address matches with the one in the description.
Thanks in advance,
Claudio

Overall 83 % of users are feeling neutral. The discussion revolves around whether the treasury should fund various video projects related to the Polkadot ecosystem. Some members believe that certain videos, such as the one for Mangata, should be funded by the treasury as they serve as promotional tools. Others argue that the treasury should not necessarily pay for videos about wallets or topics already covered extensively. There is also mention of WagMedia as a platform to support early content creators, with differing opinions on its role in funding projects....
Overall 16 % of users are feeling against it. We are seeking feedback on our treasury proposal service to assist teams. Share your experience by filling out a form. Follow us on Twitter for more information.

Personally voting NAY on this:
-
For the Mangata video – their treasury should pay for it, since it's basically advertising for them (it's this video that i mainly have issue with, and just to clarify, i would feel the same about a similar video made about Robonomics, it's not to do with Mangata, more the principle of it)
-
For the Subwallet video – this is a tricky one, since while I do think we need to direct new users towards wallets with better UX (as i think it can help user retention in the eco), I also think that the Kusama treasury shouldn't necessarily pay for videos about how to use those wallets (just to clarify, imo this also stands for any content that would be related to Nova too)
-
For the Polkadot vs Cosmos video – there are already quite a lot of videos on the same topic, and I don't know if we're necessarily breaking new ground here, but I don't have any major concerns with this one
Voted Aye
Hi @leemo ok fair enough, I appreciate your feedback. Lots of those other parachains don't have a treasury and Mangata is one of them so I wouldn't be able to reach out, same for the wallets themselves. It's part of Polkadot's ecosystem and helping it grow in the end. How else can we market the ecosystem in different languages if we're not supported in any way ?
yeah. dotsama do not need buy these same topic video. give a Nay on these. very glad to see some smart whales give a big Nay!!!
Hi Claudio,
I agree with the points Leemo raised. I would also add that this work commenced under the Spanish bounty already paid by treasure. Whatever was the reason for not being paid/run out of funds/failed work prearrangement... is completely between you and the bounty curator. I see no reason to come and ask for the additional funds from the treasury so I will give a strong Nay to this one.
On a positive side it seems you will get approval for the treasury referenda #38 so I would suggest to focus and prepare as there is a lot of work to deliver.
Hi @CoinStudio - Thanks for the feedback, the issue is that although WagMedia got funds, because I contributed after the treasury funds were used up, I didn't receive any compensation for it and I normally contribute to that channel to also promote the ecosystem to the spanish speaking community.
So think of it as a way for me to continue promoting Dotsama to the spanish speakers without getting paid by that treasury, it's a Youtube channel that was created to promote Dotsama on behalf of WagMedia so if WagMedia was to disappear tomorrow, that Youtube channel would remain and I could continue promoting if you know what I mean but would need some funding for the effort. That's separate from Ref #38 because that one's for my english content which is a separate effort.
I’d also like to clarify here that WagMedia is a tool to help incentivize early content creators to get their feet under them and eventually do their own proposals to the treasury through OpenGov. The fact that you are able to appeal to the token holders already is great Claudio, especially since you have been doing videos for such a long time.
WagMedia is not a source of income to live off, but a source of early stage incentives to get creators going. I think working through which content is getting support from token holders and running with that is a way you could go.
