Revitalizing Kusama

Funding the Virto DAO in Q3 and Q4

Virto presents a strategy to revitalize Kusama, transforming it from a perceived "chaotic testnet" into a thriving ecosystem for innovative Web3 projects that can easily go from idea to scalable organization in minutes.

Continuing the successful focused strategy of Q2, we present two key milestones to continue building the KSM-centric Kreivo infrastructure and accompanying platform and tools to be completed by the end of each 2024 quarter:

• Q3: A beautifully simple platform for organizations management and governance. Most early-stage start-ups and real world businesses will find most tool they need to manage their organization, make decentralized decisions, receive payments and create market places - all without worrying about wallets or fees.

• Q4: Extensibility and tailoring for an organization's special needs. To get that crucial 20% extra missing from the base infrastructure, we will provide customization options, enabling businesses to add their unique "secret sauce". This includes adding custom sections to their organization page, a SDK that can be integrated in 3rd-party apps, smart contracts, off-chain plugins and a prototype system to effortlessly scale an organization to a dedicated Kusama core for increased throughput.

These milestones aim to lower entry barriers and position Kusama as the go-to network for rapid Web3 innovation. Our proposal details how we'll address current challenges and make Kusama an ideal platform for early-stage projects to tailor their environments and achieve sustainable growth.

Notes

• Requested amount: 8,500 KSM (each quarter). KSM comes from the idle treasury funds in the Kusama AssetHub. Q4 funds are set to be available form 01/10/2024, so the community can cancel the second payment if the team is not delivering as expected. The team's quarterly costs are 160,000 USD, with EMA7 equals 9156.98 KSM, we round down the amount to have less impact on treasury betting on a positive price action of the KSM.
• Funds management: As with previously requested funds, team members are to be payed in KSM using the vesting pallet and the open governance of the DAO. Ideally we would like to find on-chain buyers of the KSM to pay instead with stable coin using our payments pallet.
• Based on the sustainability model of our tokenless parachain and besides parallel efforts by the GrowthDAO team to onboard more organizations to Kreivo, Virto has a "secret" goal of on-boarding 1 or more bigger organizations in growth stage by the end of the year that can bring enough revenue to the protocol via the renewal of memberships and payment fees to achieve self-sustainability.
• The Virto DAO might keep renewing the several Kusama cores acquired recently to cooperate with other teams in the ecosystem that don't want to worry about the maintenance of a parachain and prototype our system of simple deployment of "satellite chains" governed from Kreivo.
• Join our Kreivo Matrix channel to discuss with other teams on how to better build this infrastructure together and for any support and questions related to the protocol, the proposal or setting up your own DAO/Community/Collective/Business :)
