It Remains is a decentralized media franchise led by the Art Director of WALL-E and Finding Nemo, IP holders of the Batman franchise, renowned Hollywood artists, and experienced blockchain builders.

The story features books, TV series, WEB3 games, NFTs, augmented reality, and digital collectibles. Situated in a post-dystopian world, it has an international community of over 50k fans.

We aim to integrate KSM and its unique Canary symbol throughout the It Remains universe. This initiative will promote the network among a vibrant community of nerds, gamers, and blockchain natives.

The integration will include four stages:

  1. In-story gamification - the Kusama Canary is featured in the Immersive Novel: Vol 2. Using the mobile App, users receive hints to puzzles and mini-games, to unlock hidden augmented Reality areas of the book.

  2. KSM exclusive Discounts. All It Remains official store products [the Immersive Novel, board game, AR clothing, collectible figurines, prints] available at 50% price if purchased with the Kusama token.

  3. KSM rewards for users interacting with the It Remains x Canary initiatives [in-app games, book, board game].

  4. The Kusama logo featured [Sponsorship package] at future It Remains Immersive Experience events [immersive galleries, art shows like Art Basel Miami, Comicons, Blockchain events]. A minimum of 7 events per year. Positioning of Kusama for a period of 12 months.

Overall 66 % of users are feeling neutral. A user on a platform is questioning various aspects of an experiment involving Yayoi Kusama, including parachain usage for launching tokens, integration with chains, and fund allocation. They also inquire about discounts, merchandise creation, event sponsorship, NFT availability, brand positioning, user interaction rewards, proposal structure adherence, event locations, comic conventions, blockchain events, and private sales of Resistor tokens.

Overall 33 % of users are feeling against it. The It Remains campaign lacks effective strategies for driving broader Kusama adoption or converting exposure into active network participation, despite its intriguing post-dystopian setting and cross-media approach. The proposal fails to meaningfully integrate Kusama's technology, relegating it to a mere symbolic element or basic payment method instead of showcasing its unique features. Furthermore, the campaign lacks clear pathways for transforming fans into active network participants, missing an opportunity for ecosystem growth.

Kusama needs to be much more fearless and open to creative experiments. This is one such experiment. Let's put Kusama on the map again.

The It Remains campaign showcases impressive graphics and an engaging theme. The post-dystopian setting and cross-media approach are certainly intriguing. However, I'm skeptical about its potential to drive significant Kusama adoption, especially considering the likely high treasury costs:

  1. The Kusama Canary integration seems subtle and might not effectively drive broader network awareness.
  2. KSM discounts and rewards mainly target existing holders rather than attracting new users.
  3. Event sponsorships provide exposure but somewhat unlikely to convert efficiently to active network participants.

Importantly, the proposal fails to meaningfully integrate Kusama's technology, relegating it to a mere symbolic element or basic payment method instead of showcasing its unique features. Moreover, while the existing 50,000-fan community is significant, the proposal lacks a clear pathway to transform these fans into active Kusama network participants, missing a prime opportunity for ecosystem growth.

While the It Remains proposal offers intriguing experimental artistic value that could be worth supporting at a lower cost, given its substantial price tag, we'd expect to see a much deeper integration of Kusama's technology and clearer pathways to significant network growth to justify the expense.

We will discuss the proposal here: https://x.com/i/spaces/1mrGmMXXEaDGy Initial thoughts: We still have some concerns about the impact of this proposal, how it will benefit Kusama eco, and want to learn if the team had any contribution to Kusama eco before . Of course, we will wait for the feedback from the community and make the final decision before voting.

Questions:

1- Do you have your own "It Remains" parachain on Kusama Coretime that you're using to natively launch the Resisters token from?

2- Are you going to use a proportion of the funds to fund purchasing one or more cores on Kusama Coretime?

3- What chains on Kusama are you going to integrate with?

4- Regarding dot point 1, is it that you already have a Resister token that you want to promote and you want the Kusama Treasury to help you fund the launch of it to your audience, and in return you'll create some Kusama canary assets and incorporate them into the interactive book that'll also be exposed to the audience?

5- Regarding dot point 2, I went to the "Store" section on your website with a download connection of ~10Mbps and it took about 30 seconds to load the images of some of the cover images for some of the items. I think you need to get your webmaster to look into ways to preloading your images. I can't see why the treasury should fund providing a KSM exclusive discounts to online store items where most customers wouldn't have the patience to even wait for the cover images to load unless they were able to afford to access a 50-100Mbps internet connections speed.

6- Regarding dot point 2, what proportion of the budget in this proposal goes toward providing liquidity to subsidise 50% of the purchases from the It Remains online store?

7- Regarding dot point 2, is there a reason why you don't provide a lesser discount of say 40% and divert 10% of each sale back to the Kusama treasury to recoup the costs of this campaign?

8- Regarding dot point 2, how would you describe the list of Kusama-specific merchandise, AR figures, artworks, t-shirts, bags, or NFTs you are going to create that will be available at the It Remains store? What materials will you use to create it? Will be built from recycled materials?

9- How long will the 50% discounts last for? Will that discount last forever?

10- Are the NFTs on It Remains website only available on Opensea? Are they going to be made available on any of the NFT marketplaces that are Kusama parachains or a future NFT marketplace of a parachain that is run by It Remains?

11- Regarding dot point 3, what proportion of the budget in this proposal goes toward funding the KSM rewards for users that interact with the games, books, board games, quests, and being top of leaderboards?

12- Regarding dot point 4, what proportion of the budget in this proposal goes toward funding Kusama brand positioning at each event?

13- Regarding dot point 4, where is a preview of which Kusama logo or similar is going to be featured at each event? What dimensions? Is the canary going to be the size of a t-rex dinosaur replica? What materials will you use to create it? Will be built from recycled materials? How many of the Kusama props will be created? Will they be different at each event or are you going to use the same ones at each event?

14- Regarding dot point 4, will there be Kusama-branded billboards too at each event? How many other sponsors will be at each event? What Sponsorship package level will this represent compared to all the Sponsorship packages that are available, will Kusama be the main sponsor with the best package available?

15- Regarding dot point 4, in what ways will participants at these events interact with Kusama, such as with the Kusama immersive galleries, and other than just through purchasing items from the It Remains store?

16- Regarding dot point 4, is there a reason why you're offering only a bundled sponsorship to feature the Kusama logo? what discount does this offer compared to just having separate proposals for positioning at each event so Kusama treasury may have the opportunity to reject future funding if there weren't adequate feedback forms from participants, interactions by participants, and success metrics established to measure engagement with the Kusama brand at each event?

17- Is there a reason why you have chosen to request funding for all four stages of integration rather than having separate proposals for each stage?

18- Could you please update your proposal to follow these guidelines https://www.opengov.watch/guides/proposals-project-structure

19- Where are the events going to be held? Are the events going to be accessible to the global poor or only the global elite? * Art Basel Miami, December 6 ā€“ 8, 2024, Miami Beach, https://www.artbasel.com/miami-beach/buy-tickets

20- What do you mean by Comicons, do you mean one of these? https://fancons.com/events/schedule.php?type=comic

21- Does it include ones like this too: Comicons, Nov 30-Dec 1 2024, Stuttgart, https://www.comiccon.de/

22- Which blockchain events? It is important to know because the Kusama Treasury may prefer some over others, and not wish to associated the brand with some blockchain ecosystems events that may have been malicious or may have been blacklisted for being insensitive to the Polkadot and Kusama brand, and to prevent duplicate spends on positioning the Kusama brand at the same event by different parties.

23- Is it part of the deal that KSM holders going to be invited to be able to invest their KSM into the private sale of your Resistor token launch if this proposal gets approved?

Members of the Fellowship Collective involved in projects flagged by the OG tracker should provide a proper explanation, return the funds to the Treasury, or face expulsion.

Invarch failed to provide the first two, so Gabe, a founding member of the team, does not meet the ethical standards required to have a voice in the Fellowship.

TENETS (extract from the fellowship manifesto)

"Members are expected to faithfully uphold the following tenets.
Clarifications to the rules should be in agreement with these tenets. Acting in clear breach of these tenets may be considered by voters as grounds for non-promotion, demotion or, in extreme cases, exclusion from the Fellowship.

(1) Sincerely uphold the interests of Polkadot and avoid actions which clearly work against it.
(2) Respect the philosophy and principles of Polkadot.
(3) Respect the operational procedures, norms and voting conventions of the Fellowship.
(4) Respect your fellow Members and the wider community"

#510 Secure Funds

To prevent potential mismanagement of Youdle DAO treasury funds, we propose temporarily transferring these assets to the Kusama Treasury, which is now the safest option.

Rationale:

The Invarch team, which currently controls the funds, has a history of questionable financial decisions, including the transfer of more than 200K ASTAR from the DAO to a CEX without transparency.

Community members have raised concerns and asked questions about fund management, but the team has not provided clear answers.

To ensure responsible management, these remaining funds (400 KSM) should be safeguarded under Kusama governance.

Next Steps:

The funds will later be returned to Youdle DAO holders through a transparent and verifiable process.

We urge the community to support this measure to protect DAO resources.

Moving DAO funds to a CEX because it's a shared address instead of moving to another on chain address? No answers.

but instead 2000000 pink were allocated to xcastronaut (invarch founder) wallet

Tinkernet (kusama parachain) was shutdown. Investors were given 4 VARCH for 1 TINKER. VARCH was later a rug so this converts Tinkernet in a rug. Before shuting down they made an LBP in Osmosis (Cosmos) which also was a rug.
