#322 Funding of Kusama System Parachain Collators
Dear Community Members,
This bounty is designed to fund System Parachain Collators on Kusama in a similar manner to bounty 20 on Kusama. Funding covers Asset-Hub and Bridge-Hub System Parachains.
This initiative is an extension of the original System Parachain Collator proposal. Our goal is to incentivize efficient performance, minimize censorship and ensure ongoing activity on each of System Parachains. We intend to achieve this by securing Treasury funding for operational costs and by associating disbursements against metrics of performance.
Funding Request: Infrastructure Costs and Staking Rewards
Coverage: Two Kusama System Parachains (AssetHub and BridgeHub)
Duration: 6-month runway. Start Date: 1 January 2024
Funding Amount: 1954.46 KSM for Kusama System Parachains
We highly value your input and would greatly appreciate your comments, suggestions and support.
Kind Regards,
🐟BlueFin Tuna🐟, on behalf of System Parachain Collators

Overall 75 % of users are feeling neutral. @ValidOrange and @Adam_Clay_Steeber discuss slot filling for Collators on Kusama. All current slots are filled, but new ones can be opened without permission. To secure a slot, one needs to have a node ready, keys set on-chain, and submit an extrinsic with 50 transferable KSM. @Adam_Clay_Steeber confirms his verified identity and registration date of January 27th, 2o21.
Overall 25 % of users are feeling against it. The proposed system does not align with the open spirit of bounties as it appears to be a closed system favoring established participants over newcomers. Consequently, I am voting against this proposal due to lack of equal opportunity for all potential applicants.

Is this open to participation from additional operators?
All current slots are filled, however, if a slot is opened it can be filled permissionlessly. To secure the slot you'll need to have a node ready, keys set on-chain. 50 transferable KSM on the account and then submit an extrinsic to register you as a candidate.
I appreciate the reply. However based on this it does not sound like this is actually in the proper spirit of a bounty, where anyone can apply and be selected by the curators. It seems like a closed system where established participants are locked in and new faces have no meaningful opportunity to participate. As such, I must vote NAY on this proposal.
I'm sorry that you feel that way, the selection of Collators can not be tasked to a Curator. Invulnerable Collators are assigned via Kusama's governance and permissionless ones as I've mentioned allow anyone to participate with a deposit.
Voted Aye
I hope this will compensate the month of September since that was missed in referendum 309....
I'm in agreement!

Invarch failed to provide the first two, so Gabe, a founding member of the team, does not meet the ethical standards required to have a voice in the Fellowship.
