There is no need for this proposal at all, Claudio.

If someone wants FREN, ask just about anyone who did the crowdloan, there's tons of it out there. Heck, you could paste your address and I could send you thousands of them if you wanted.

Same for GMs or GNs; paste the address below and the #1 GMer on the leaderboard will gladly provide what you need.

We had to deal with enough FUD when we even started this project (e.g. being accused that our project was going to be a pump and dump scheme), and listing this token against anything with real economic value is a non-starter in my book.

Moreover, I am not sure why the GM team wasn't approached with this idea first (perhaps because you anticipated us saying no?). Granted, this is the nature of decentralization, but to completely circumvent our community and only show up in our Discord server **yesterday** demonstrates you were never part of this project or its community, which only makes me that much more curious about your motives 🤔

I chatted to Dutchie from your community who's also a team member and he said it could be a good idea to open this channel when I suggested it to him over a chat about GM. I also saw GM had no channel open with any parachain so I thought, why not do it? Trust me, there are 0 financial motives for me to do this. I don't have any skin in the game and I was sent some FREN to test out for minting just to see how it works. 

It was more of an experiment for me to see if this can actually be done through the whitelist caller & obviously I made a mistake, please just let it fail and we'll all forget it without possible agendas etc as there are none. I simply wanted to assist as I saw nobody has moved a finger in this direction, that's all.

An extra note - I am not sure if treasury should be paying to open channels between 2 parachains. Also, we use governance for system chain channels not because of the deposit, but because system chains don't have a different governance to open channels with. if I understand correctly, GM and Mangata have their own governance, there's no reason to use Kusama's. 

Does the community think this deposit should be covered by the treasury or by the parachains? Interested to hear opinions. 

As a member of the GM team and someone who did not ask for this, my answer is an unequivocal NO in that the treasury should not fund this at all (even if it had been submitted correctly)

It seems there was a mistake in the destination transfer address and it should have sent the 10 KSM to the MangataX address for the channel to open. Please vote Nay or simply don't add the decision deposit so this can fail.

There seems to have been a bit of a miscommunication WRT initiating this referendum, and it does indeed have issues as Raul has stated above – and seems to have been made a bit hastily as a sort of experiment.

I would reccomend that people vote NAY on this proposal – if the GM Parachain were to open HRMP channels with other chains, we would indeed do it via our own (and the other parachain's) internal governance processes.

We appreciate the intent of the referendum, but as Raul and Leemo have stated, it goes against established procedures of opening channels. Each parachain has its own (social-)sovereign governance which should be contacted before such a proposal.

While personally I have favored listing GM-related tokens on Mangata X, I understand that the team behind GM chains prefers not to tap into those waters and keep GM free from the implications that can come with trading. While a FREN/GM and GM/GN pair couldn't hurt, Mangat has permissionless pool creation and anyone could create a pair against KSM, MGX, or soon USDT and this might be against the intention of the chain's governance.

On the other hand, we are very honored that you have thought about Mangata X as the chain where you would like to see FREN, GM, and GN be listed. We will continue working to get all ecosystem tokens listed where the respective governances support it.

Thanks Tommi for the comment, you're welcome. I like what Mangata are doing and it would be nice to see more Parachain coins on there and yeah, I agree with a FREN/GM or FREN/GN pair. That could be interesting. 

I was also thinking maybe collators on GM would benefit if FREN would be trading somewhere cause they're ultimately operating for free and the question is, how long can those resources last?

I've created the following referendum to open up HRMP channels between the GM parachain which is supposed to be a community project created for fun to send and receive GMs and GNs
and MangataX which is a DEX so that community members have the freedom to add liquidity for the FREN coin which is currently not listed anywhere. 
This will allow anyone who wants to obtain FREN to do so anytime they chose.

The following calls will be made:

- A **forcetransfer** of 10 KSM from the **Treasury** to **Statemine** account (It automatically swaps the MangataX address to the Statemine address on Kusama)
- A **forceopenhrmpchannel** from **MangataX** (2,110) to **GM** [2,123].
- A **forceopenhrmpchannel** from **GM** [2,123] to **MangataX** (2,110).

This is also a fun experiment because I've never actually created this kind of request before so I thought I'd give it a try.

Now the challenge is who will be happy to block 333.33 KSM as a decision deposit for this for the next 14 days   ;-)
