Imbue Treasury Proposal. Freelance Marketplace
Imbue was started with the vision of accountability empowered by the blockchain. We as an ecosystem can do better!
Imbue at its core is milestone-based vesting powered by democracy. Proposals are submitted on the network with milestones and their respective %s. Only funders get to vote on the progress of a project since they have the most to lose, while project initiators are incentivised to continue delivering so they get more of their project’s funds unlocked.
What we want to build is a platform where creatives, developers, researchers and anyone with talent can utilize their expertise to get paid securely and safely regardless of where they are in the world. To give people options that do not exist where they live and get funded in whatever substrate native token they wish
We believe this resonates strongly with the ethos of Kusama, and will be a great outlet to bridge over other ecosystems that can leverage Imbue and hence Kusama as a vehicle to achieve their dreams or improve their lives. Thereby pushing more adoption onto Kusama and definitively answering the popular misconception that Web3 lacks utility
The team reached out to the community and described what we wanted to do. A promise was set that - given the team's expertise to deliver on this - there will be no external funding until a usable product is produced. We decided to build it in an open-source manner with volunteers
Imbue is one of the very few(GM perhaps being the only other) that remains to this day open source and not funded with the sole purpose of protecting the community. As such, the team are also exploring ways to migrate towards a common good chain
We strongly believe that Imbue can add much-needed utility and value to Kusama beyond just DeFi, as well as help us reach beyond the Polkadot ecosystem and clearly and definitively answer "Why Kusama?" or "How does this make my life better?" and bring in users and adoption
Please feel free to look at the proposal and we look forward to your feedback

Hello Team, how are you planning to spend 8k monthly on infrastructure, please provide more Details.
Hi Niftesty, thats a very good question. Thank you for asking it. The cost is attributed to the nodes that will run the network, we are currently running 6 nodes in prod and we want to double that. 8k is actually a very conservative amount when you think about the amount of nodes that are needed to make the network stable. However, It also includes the costs for hosting the UI and database, as well as the dev infrastructure
Hey Sam,
Thank you for your time spent going through the highlighted areas and adding the extra information to the proposal. Even a small amount of information can help improve proposal a lot. Good luck with the proposal!
Here is the updated proposal Audit including all the changes and additional information provided. Please note the Audit report is reflecting only the quality of information presented in the proposal and not the Quality of the project/idea itself.

Hi CoinStudio, thank you so much for the detailed report . I would like to address some of the concerns you raised if I may
Re previous discussions, we did post a discussion previously and have amended the proposal to focus on the core value we want to deliver which is the freelance marketplace. I appreciate the title of the original proposal was misleading however the proposal itself is the same. A freelance marketplace
Re infra costs, The breakdown is based on the cost to run the nodes, both collators and RPC nodes. As well as the dev infrastructure, hosting the UI and database. I am happy providing a detailed breakdown of each item if that will help
Re dev costs, the devs will be working full time and the substrate dev salary is $6k a month, I would argue that is less than market rate and the reason the devs are doing it is because of how strongly they believe in what we are building
Re Total costs, This is something others have raised as well and I think I should be clearer on this point. We dont plan to come to the treasury to fund the remaining balance, we want to build a platform that gives us a revenue model which allows us to close that gap. Either through completing projects on chain or through traditional means of funding
I hope this clarifies most of your concerns, if you have any more questions or concerns I would be happy to resolve them
