Proposal to fund PolkaStats operation costs for Kusama network from 01.09.2021 to 01.12.2021

Hi all,

I want to open the discussion for a new treasury spent proposal to fund PolkaStats operation costs for Kusama network from 01.09.2021 to 01.12.2021.

CONTEXT

PolkaStats is a Substrate block explorer aiming to provide the best staking and economic data for both validators and nominators. It helps both types of users by providing comprehensive metrics, charts and utilities to improve their knowledge and performance.

PolkaStats is one of the projects that was born in La Colmena, a crypto community based in Sevilla, southern Spain. The community aims to incentivize content-creation in Spanish for Polkadot, Kusama and other blockchain projects and, as supporters of open source culture, develop software to contribute to the ecosystem. The organization also acts like an incubator that helped create blockchain business models like DragonStake or Delega Networks validators.

Although there are currently already some very good Substrate explorers in the ecosystem, PolkaStats has a different perspective to offer in order to increase diversity among the existing solutions. PolkaStats differentiates from other explorers in:

  • Focusing on Proof of Stake chains only.
  • Being a full Javascript based block explorer (both frontend and backend)
  • Utilising Vue.js, Nuxt.js and GraphQL with a soft learning curve.

SPENDING PROPOSAL

PolkaStats aims to submit a spending proposal to the Kusama Treasury on the following terms:

  • A 3 month period pre-paid funding for operational expenses, which totals to 2.939 KSM for the period 01.09.2021 - 01.12.2021.
  • KSM base-price is determined using EMA30 price from Subscan: $264.574 (225.60 €)
  • The funds are used to pay the servers we rent to Hetzer and Digital Ocean in order to operate PolkaStats for the Kusama network.

MONTHLY BUDGET

Please find below a detailed budget of PolkaStats monthly operational costs for Kusama network:

  • Hetzner AX61-NVMe (KUSAMA): 99.96 €
  • Hetzner AX61-NVMe (DEVELOPMENT): 99.96 €
  • ½ Digital Ocean 4 vCPUs 8GB / 160GB Disk (DEVELOPMENT): 16.92 €
  • ½ Digital Ocean 1 vCPUs 2GB / 50GB Disk (MONITORING): 4.23 €
  • TOTAL: 221.07 € / Month
  • TOTAL KSM (1 KSM = 225.60 €): 0.979 KSM / Month

NOTE: Conversion rate of 1 KSM = $264.5745 = 225.60 € was calculated using EMA30 price from Subscan at 23/08/2021

Data displayed on PolkaStats is inaccurate. Current Kusama Era 2745 Latest displayed Era 2642 103 Era late Data displayed on Kusama is over 25 days old.
