Relation to Polka Main Net Question

Hey everyone!! I'm somewhat of a newbie to all of this... I'm wondering what does polka assembly represent relative to polka main net? Is it a testing grounds for governance functions that may inform governance protocols for the polkadot main net once that launches. Thanks in advance!!

Just like there's a kusama.polkassembly.io, there will likely also be a portal for polkadot (mainnet) specifically - the goal of polkassembly is to have a communication forum that is tied directly to onchain governance (in this case via the governance bot - which mirrors onchain activity - and linking your address, which allows you to comment on proposals you make onchain)
