POLKADOT HACKATHON EAST ASIA - HackaDOT 2023 [deprecated]
East Asia is a region with a large number of EVM developers with worldwide potential to find new ecosystem to apply their skills.
We propose the FIRST EVER hackathon in East Asia to unite this potential and promote the Substrate technology.
The layout of this hackathon will combine few components we had during Sub0 2022,
such as Starters & Builders Spaces, to host various workshops for developers who are new to Substrate/Polkadot and also for those who already have experience with.
The HackaDOT 2023, will be the offcial side event of Buidl Asia 2023 and be held both online(Phase#1) and offline(Phase#2).
In total 2.5 months of execution, from 13 March to 28 May 2023 (30 days of registration, 30 days Pre-online hackathon, 3 days of live-hackathon and 4 days for judging period).
-
HackaDOT 2023 aims:
To promote Substrate as an open source framework for developers in East Asia.
To convert/navigate local developers into Relay/parachain(or even parathread/solochain) Ecosystem.
To showcase how Polkadot live-ecosystem leaders are building the use-cases using our technology.
-
20 booths will be open and avaliable for Relay/Parachain Teams to use.
And we still have 5-6 open slots for workshops from live-ecosystem projects, so feel free to apply here.

Hi Rhee,
Thank you for submitting this proposal and paving the way for further Ambassadors-led community events in East Asia.
Having read through the proposal, I understand that there are ongoing discussions to onboard ecosystem team members/leaders into this event by you and your team. But there is no mention of other organisers beside the project lead.
Q: Could you indicate which/how many ambassadors are/will be involved in this initiative?
The proposal document demonstrates that a great deal of the competition's procedures have already been outlined in the spirit of collaboration, especially with regards to mentorship from community leaders. However, I couldn't find any mention of a website in the marketing items.
Q: Are you planning to set up a dedicated webpage for this event that the community can share and/or refer to for more information before/around its actual date?
Thank you for your time!
