Polka.Training - Education Website
We're interested in building a educational portal for polkadot that would allow individuals to receive payments and soulbound NFTs as rewards for completing educational content. We're looking for feedback on our proposal and idea. While not mentioned in the proposal specifically, we intend to do email and sms/phone verification to prevent abuse.
Video Example (still under development, should have it this week)

One ring to bind them all... (in a decentralised way of course!) It would be good to list all the educational content *that has already been funded/created* (and what languages are supported). This way we could see what training topics are lacking. Also, the portal should link to existing material if already available (no duplication needed). Or host copies of the existing material. About no rewards for learning: the reward of learning the dotsama ecosystem is the knowledge of how to operate in this system. I understand gamification, but stating there is no reward could be a bit melodramatic. Please look at existing portals like coursera etc. They have a great UI and UX. No need to start from scratch.
The material would be entirely unique. The goal is to design courses to teach people which is very different than just showing someone a video and moving on. Much of the content being generated will not be video based but will be tests and interactive content (users interacting with the website to perform mock commands, clicks, and interactions). As far as I'm aware the only learn 2 earn site is a single Revolut course. While yes, you are right, the reward is the knowledge; We will need to have a much wider adoption and we will need to incentivize that to make it happen.
Hi Tom,
Thumbs up for another well written proposal. Considering the ambitious goal and even more ambitious funding I will need more time to think about it before forming opinion on the proposal.
In the meantime, is it possible to provide a more detailed Budget and Timeline section please?
Considering the total amount of requested funds of $958,000, it is very hard to quantify or measure the budget subsections with only lump sum provided i.e.
Thanks!
There are a lot of changes coming. This was just an initial public disclosure and feedback phase. What do you think about the idea in form and function? I should be on AAG on Monday. I'll be discussing this lightly then along with a number of other topics.
